“Brooklyn High Low has curated a tea experience with your comfort in mind. Our afternoon tea is all about the luxury of an unbothered hour in your day to relax.”

The name Brooklyn High Low refers to our take on two distinct English traditions: Low Tea and High Tea.

Low Tea emerged in the mid-1830s as a light afternoon snack to tide the upper class over until dinner, which was enjoyed at low tables arranged with light sandwiches, petit fours and elegant china. High Tea, on the other hand, was traditionally a full meal meant to replenish laborers upon their return home from their physically demanding jobs.

Brooklyn High Low pulls from both traditions to offer a classic tearoom service, Brooklyn-style, through three tea experiences. The Classic, and our Grand Vanderbilt and Grand Height tea experiences offer a range of savory bites, baked goods and yummy sweets prepared by our small house kitchen. Our sitting room, outfitted with low tables, comfortable antique chairs, and vintage décor, is an oasis of cozy and calm— the perfect respite from everything outside of the tearoom’s doors. Perhaps it’s time you book an afternoon Tea.
